PRICES & PAYMENT?

Session price for head shots in our studio is $499. This includes up to 3 finished retouched images delivered in web and print formats as well as special social media profile crops. Additional retouched images can be purchased for $90/ea. This does not include makeup or location based shoots. We accept all major credit cards, checks or cash due at the start of the shoot. Makeup is extra and cost is determined by the makeup artist if used. There is a $1 archiving fee for all shoots. If you’d like me to come to you for your headshot session, there is a $180 travel and location fee. This includes only the Portland Metro area and Vancouver. HOW LONG DOES THE SESSION TAKE?

Usually about an hour.  This may go longer if hair and make up is involved.  I usually shoot about 150-250 images depending on the session time. We can go as long as needed to get the exact best shots of you possible. I also use a wireless “tethering” system, which connects the camera to an iPad screen so that we can instantly view the images during the session. This lets me show you the images while we are shooting so we can adjust your look and fix issues as they come up. I use a unique system of interchangeable backgrounds so its easy to match it towards your look, color and final desired result. This is a lot of fun too!

DO YOU RETOUCH IMAGES THAT I CHOOSE?

I recommend having your agent (if you have one) or myself make the selections. Often we aren't the best at selecting images of ourselves. I retouch and deliver 3 images which includes color correcting, cropping, cleaning up of blemishes, etc.  Please note that I am a very light retoucher as I want you to look like you on your best day.  The biggest complaint from Casting Directors is that the actor has too much makeup on or that their headshot is so over retouched that it doesn't even look like them.  It is a waste of your time as well as the Casting Director.  If you need additional images retouched, then I charge $50/image thereafter.

CAN I BRING SOMEONE WITH ME?

Preferably no. In order to have the best possible interaction and reaching the goal of achieving the perfect looks and expressions for your head shots, a minimum of distraction is best.

WHAT CLOTHING ITEMS SHOULD I BRING?

Bring clothing items you LOVE! If you don’t love it, you won’t appear your best in the photos. In general, bring more solid colored items that aren’t quite so bright with saturated colors. Heavy complex patterns should also be avoided. Keep it simple. If you are in doubt as to whether something will work, bring it anyway! Better to have too many options than not enough.

WHAT ABOUT MAKEUP?

We recommend a makeup artist for women but certainly not necessary if you are good at doing your own. We can give names of several very good makeup artists so you can have it done preferably before you arrive or here on site. Cost will vary depending on the artist. For men usually not necessary, but make sure to come well groomed with clean combed hair. For men it is often desired to come with some facial hair growth or a beard for some shots and then shave to get the remaining looks. We do not supply shaving gear so be sure to bring your own.

DO I GET ANY OF THE UN-RETOUCHED PROOF IMAGES?

We do not provide the proofs from the headshot session for several reasons. The main reason is quality. We provide high-quality, retouched photos as part of the session. The proofs are a tool for choosing the right final images. They are not a finished product and therefore not for public consumption.  We are very proud of the quality of our retouching and work very hard to maintain consistency. You want to put your best face forward. So do we.
